H.R. 442 Nisei Veterans & the Fight For Civil Liberties

Commissioned illustrations for the Go For Broke National Education Center’s Exhibit “H.R. 442: Nisei Veterans & the Fight For Civil Liberties.” Five color and black & white illustrations displayed in the exhibit in historic Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, CA.
These, along with the exhibit’s interactive stories, depict the narrative of the impact Japanese American veterans of WWII had on the President Ronald Reagan’s signing of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 and highlight several important stories such as the relationship between U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye and Hawaii statehood; Kazuo Masuda and Ronald Reagan; and Rudy Tokiwa and U.S. Rep. Charles Bennett.
